my favorite job just happens to be the one i'm working now. i bartend on friday and saturday nights (at 2 different bars), and i love it!
it is, however, kind of a pain working EVERY SINGLE weekend, but it's a nice change to have some money to spend after being unemployeed for over a year (ohio sucks).
i'm currently attending hocking college full time in the practical nursing program. after i get that over with, i'll go on to be a registered nurse.
my dream job is to work as a psychiatric nurse (for many reasons). let's hope i can get there! :)
what does everyone else do/did/want to do?

Besides, being a father. My other dream job is also the one I'm at. If you can say that. I work for General Motors and am layed off right now. I have met some of the best people there. It's like a lil family. I'm going to school for sports rehad and therapy. I taking anatomy, massage therapy and reflexology, Hopefully, in about a year I can work in a hospital or a sports clinic.

i'm so sorry to hear about your job. it's sad when hardly anyone in this country has any job security. that's one of the reasons why i decided to go into healthcare.
massage therapy would be interesting. i have a friend who's taking classes for massage therapy.

Don't feel sorry for me. Workin for GM is pretty good. Being layed off from there is better. I hope I don't go back till the end of summer. As for the Massage therapy. It leads to different areas of healthcare. I'm just looking for something to do part time to bring in some extra cash.

My dream job ONCE was to be on TV...I even wrote myself a series when I was around 14...lol..."The Rockin Reveres"....I also wrote an episode for an old 70s western---with a part for me in it of course!! :D
Then, I wanted to be in a band--I was in Bermuda, and there was a local group that made the rounds of the hotel nightclubs...they were friends of mine..I SO wanted to be a part of their band---(I was always so envious of Susan Cowsill and Laurie Partridge!!)
(Some of you are probably going 'who??')
Any job Ive had has been enjoyable because of the friends made...but I definitely like this being home full time with 2 grandkids (ages 13 and 11) I LOVE my home, and it suits me fine to be here every day!

Lisa, I could not agree more. When I was little, I wanted to grow up and be a scientist. I wanted to discover a cure for cancer. I had no idea that my mom would get cancer when I was in my 30s.
My kids are literally my greatest joy. So I understand what you mean. There REALLY IS no place like home. :D

Great thread idea, Kaylee!
I am living my dream now. As you all know, I am a Language Arts teacher in a middle school setting, as well as a Mom to that cute little guy pictured in my avatar!
When I was young, I wanted to be a singer (Lisa, I know who you are referring to when you say Laurie Partridge and Susan Cowsill) I still sing along with the radio, and I still dream. :)

I worked for 4 years in a psychiatric/addictions facility. You must be a special person to work with people whose lives have been turned upside down by mental illness and/or addiction. Bless you, and good luck in your studies! :)

i worked in a coffee shop for about a year... i loved it! all the people were so chill... which was suprising to me, because i was hyped up on caffeine every day.
i remember the first day i started, i drank 8 straight cups of hazelnut iced coffee (i had NEVER had coffee before). i was a wreck! i felt like running laps!!!
i called my mom, and, in tears, said "god... it's just SO GOOD!"

Haha oh of course I will get you all in free no cover charge for all my Dave fans. Maybe I could even get Dave himself to do a stand up show one night just to change things around a bit. I'm sure the audience would get a kick out of it :D. Just gotta make sure I have the money to hire entertainment.

My dream job would be a writer for Sesame Street or some other educational television show. I once wrote a letter to Sesame Street and was sent an autographed pic of Big Bird and one of his feathers. Yes, I was like 32 years old, but it totally made my day!! Thanks Big Bird :)
