Hey guys, somebody just told me about this great manifestation to take place all around the globe on the next weekend and i thought you might want to take part in it. Take a look:

Turn out. Take action.
Be part of this historic event.
March 28, 2009, 8:30 pm local time

World Wildlife Fund is asking individuals, businesses, governments and organizations around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – Earth Hour – to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate commitment to finding solutions.

well, I´ve read that many cities around the world have made the commitment of turning off the lights of important buildings and touristic places. Sydney started this campaign in 2007 and apparently, 2,2 million people turned off their lights.
You can find some more data on this video:

Also, i´ve been trying to convince people to do it like this: If you do turn off your lights for one hour, you´ll certainly be saving yourself some money at the end of the month ;)
And...there´s a lot you can do with the lights off....in 60 minutes....more than once! LOL

these two arguments usually do the trick!

Well, the good things is I already do that :)
but it would be nice to see other people doing something other than watch TV all day... especially the young ones where it sadly becomes their nanny.

Wow 2.2 Million is a lot Scarlet, didn't think it could be that big...

I thought the same thing when I heard about this event, cause I though "Yeah right, people always say they´ll contribute and in the end we´ve got nothing." So I was actually motivate after I learned that it really worked out in Sydney and then it started to spread. I think it´s worth to spread the word...every year!
