Hello, All:
Just got out of class! One quick post before bed...
I love Sushi and most Pan-Asian foods. Also love Thai and Chinese.
I am Sicilian, so I love Italian.
I am also Polish, so I live for perogi.
I am Greek, too, so add some saganaki, spanokopita, baklava, stuffed grape leaves, hummus, and gyros to the list.
I'm Irish, so bring on the corned beef and cabbage.
German, as well. Sausage, sausage, and more sausage!
It was really great for my tastebuds growing up in such a diverse household; not so good for the cholesterol or the waistline, however. :p
Oh, and I agree, Susan. Not enough bacon in the world to satisfy me!!! Did I mention that it tastes good wrapped in cheese? It does! I discovered this when I went on the South Beach Diet! I knew that diet was good for something! LOL
Take care!

Oh my stars!! I love all that too!! Gurl I make tabbouleh and hummus here at home, and they are so yummy!! Big favorites at our house. My hubby is Irish. And I am, (drum roll please), Irish, Jewish, and English. (Still very southern though!) LOL The stuffed grape leaves... if you are referring to dolmas, then I am with you 100% on those delicious little buggers!!

LOL... I love bacon too. Every morning I get up and eat 5 strips of bacon. For Lunch I have Salami. For a snack... bacon... a whole dang plate. :p
Dude!! You're killing me!! LOL!! It's LENT!!!
Steamed veggetables are a good choice, I mostly have them raw though. When the vegetable is completely cooked it tends to compromise the enzymes/nutrients and some of the energetic properties of the food.
I eat Kale, Celery, Cucumber, Broccoli...sometimes there good, but sometimes it's gross ...you have to be in the mood. I have been eating a lot of garbanzo beans (aka chickpeas), papaya, cherry, and grapes lately.
Wow, that is so healthy!! We had that last night. My kids LOVE steamed veggies!! I added a little teriyaki sauce and some steamed shrimp on top. Tonight is salads. :)
I don't always set the best example for them, but I do try.
Oh... the chick peas... I use those and make homemade hummus!! :)

Sorry :) hey have you tried turkey bacon?
Yes. It's not bad. And certainly healthier than pork bacon. I think. LOL
You know I do want to try hummus I've never had it before. I know it's a middle eastern thing....maybe one of these days.
Don't get the store bought stuff. You need it fresh made with fresh made toasted pita. Oh my stars it's awesome!! If you were here, I'd make you some! :) My best friend and my kids all love it!
You know in Chinese Food Energetics grapes tonify Chi and Blood and have a good effect on the spleen.
Man do you sound like my daughter. :) She was in karate for five years. She is always talking about Good Chi and so forth. :) She's a really smart kid!! :)

When I used to eat ice cream I loved that place. Cold Stone is probably the most popular place for ice cream in my area. Used to be baskin robbins, but they got slapped silly when CS camr around.
Jeremy, Honey check the recipe thread. I left you something there. :)

Yeah Krispy Kream. They had the drive thrus over here but they all shut down for some reason. We are a somewhat dense populated area so I can't imagine what went wrong because they were so popular.
Krispy Kreme popped up everywhere in the 90's! Unfortunately, they expanded too fast and the company ran out of money; the parent company declared bankruptcy in the early 2000's. Yes, they are/were very popular (I can still smell those delicious little devils being made!), but not popular enough for the company to afford to keep all of the stores open. I had one literally around the block from my apartment when I lived in Michigan, but they closed within a year of opening. Here in Florida, they closed all of the stores but 10 (Tampa, Lauderdale, Miami, Winter Park, Kissimmee, Melbourne, Orlando and Palm Harbor). Publix carries them, but they are delivered weekly, and there is a very small selection to choose from there.

Krispy Kreme opened here in the early 60's. :) So I was raised on them!! Every Wednesday night we'd pick up some and go to my grandparents house and have them with coffee... (I was little and got milk). We had Krispy Kreme all over Jacksonville... now we just have one... it's across the river... but we sometimes go over and get some. :) They still have the window where you can watch them being made.

Early 60's!?!?
Raised with them!!?
No wonder you have such a sweet tooth! :D
Sweetheart! I'm Southern! Do you have any idea what our iced tea is like here? :p I am not exaggerating.... 12 tea bags, and two cups of sugar to make a gallon of tea. We have cake and pie here for anything and everything too.
With foods like grits, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits and gravy.... see, it's not just the sweets. In the South, literally, food= love. It's sad but true. If you think I'm kidding, just watch Paula Deen.

I love cheescake. The Cheesecake Factory is awesome. I love spaghetti as well. I go the The Spaghetti Factory that place is good.
Wisconsin stereotype, I know, but I'd be a vegan if I could quit cheese! I've tried - can't do it! Cheesecake, pizza, by itself, on crackers...far too many types of cheese and ways to use it.
As far as ethnic food, I would probably do well to live in Mexico.
If I had to pick one food to end all foods though, I do love a good, simple trail mix with fruit and nuts.
